ICFR & Risk Advisory, Assistant Manager / Senior Consultant

About the role

EY's Financial Accounting & Advisory Services (FAAS) team in Assurance is looking for an experienced professional to join its ICFR vertical in Karachi. The role suits someone with a strong background in internal controls, financial reporting and compliance frameworks, with hands-on experience managing ICFR engagements for large and complex organisations. Prior Big 4 experience is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs) for financial reporting processes, and prepare As-Is process documentation, flowcharts and narratives for key business cycles.
• Identify and document key risks and controls aligned with COSO and regulatory requirements.
• Perform design and operating effectiveness testing of internal controls over financial reporting, document results, flag deficiencies and recommend remediation plans.
• Lead stakeholder meetings with finance, operations and compliance teams, present findings to senior management and Audit Committees, and advise clients on ICFR compliance.
• Manage end-to-end ICFR engagements, including planning, execution and reporting, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• CA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 6-8 years in ICFR, internal audit or financial reporting advisory, preferably with Big 4 experience.
• Strong understanding of COSO, SOX compliance and IFRS.
• Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and lead a team.
