Import & Export Officer

About the role

The Import & Export Officer coordinates and manages the importation and exportation of goods and materials, ensuring compliance with international trade laws and regulations. The role involves working with customs brokers, logistics providers and suppliers, and keeping close contact with internal teams so that shipping activities align with company objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the importation and exportation of goods and materials.
• Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customs brokers, logistics providers and suppliers.
• Prepare and manage all documentation related to imports and exports.
• Monitor shipping and delivery timelines and address any discrepancies.
• Negotiate freight contracts and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Address customs and shipment issues efficiently.
• Keep transaction records and prepare reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in import/export operations or a related field.
• Certification in international trade or customs preferred.
• Familiarity with customs processes in different countries.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to meet clients and partners.
• Ability to work on-site and manage flexible hours according to shipping schedules.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of international trade laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with logistics software.
• Familiarity with Incoterms and international shipping practices.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
