Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

EY is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to lead VAT and GST advisory engagements in Karachi. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate regulatory changes and optimise their tax positions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of indirect tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and commercial viability.
• Manage large VAT implementation teams, coordinating client experts and EY consultants.
• Advise clients on the impact of VAT/GST on supply chains, financial systems and international trade.
• Identify market opportunities and develop commercial propositions for new and existing clients.

Required profile

• Degree in economics, finance, tax or accounting; relevant master’s or professional qualification (CPA, ACA, CMA, CTA, etc.).
• Minimum 6 years of experience in indirect tax, preferably with VAT/GST advisory.
• Experience in a Big 4 firm is preferred, but law‑firm or industry experience is also considered.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of VAT and GST regulations and implementation.
• Ability to analyse tax implications of international trade and customs compliance.
