Information Security Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Specialist to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on strengthening security controls, identifying vulnerabilities, and safeguarding sensitive data across all systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to uncover system and network weaknesses.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with industry standards.
• Monitor security tools, respond to incidents, investigate breaches, and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with IT teams to embed security measures into development and deployment pipelines.
• Deliver security awareness training and guidance to reduce human‑related risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
• Hands‑on expertise using vulnerability scanning tools like Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS.
• Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Familiarity with compliance regulations including GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities to interpret complex security logs and reports.
