Interior Designer / Architect Intern (Fresher)

About the role

Modern Interior is looking for a fresher Interior Designer / Architect Intern to join its design team in Karachi. The internship offers hands-on experience on interior design and architectural projects, from early concepts through drawing preparation and presentation, working alongside experienced team members. It is an entry-level, on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with interior and architectural concepts, layouts and space-planning tasks under team guidance.
• Prepare and update 2D drawings, plans, elevations and presentation materials based on project feedback.
• Support 3D visualization, material selection and design research for ongoing projects.
• Help organize project files, references, specifications and design documentation.
• Coordinate with designers and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and incorporate revisions.
• Contribute ideas while following project standards, deadlines and the direction of senior team members.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or motivated candidate eager to learn and receptive to feedback.
• Interest in building a career in interior design or architecture.
• Good visual communication and attention to detail when updating drawings and organizing files.
• Clear communication, collaborative habits and reliable time management.

Required skills

• Foundational understanding of interior design principles, architectural concepts and space planning.
• Ability to read, interpret or prepare basic plans, elevations and design drawings.
• Familiarity with drafting software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp, or willingness to learn more.
• Basic awareness of materials, finishes, colour, lighting and furniture selection.
