IT Support Technician with Electrical Skills

About the role

Jersey Precast is seeking a proactive IT Support Technician who also possesses basic electrical skills to provide day‑to‑day technical assistance across computers, networking, office equipment, and electrical installations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Windows systems, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, CAD‑related applications and peripheral devices.
• Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, printer, scanner and other peripheral issues.
• Configure and resolve LAN, Wi‑Fi, internet connectivity, switches, routers, cabling and shared network resources.
• Support telephone systems and liaise with internet and technical service providers as needed.
• Perform basic electrical work such as installing outlets, plugs, switches, extension wiring, power connections, workstation setup and UPS support.
• Maintain safe and organized IT and electrical cabling.
• Procure IT, networking and electrical equipment, obtain quotations and coordinate with vendors.
• Maintain IT asset, software licence, warranty and repair records.
• Provide timely, professional technical support to employees and escalate major issues to external contractors when required.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent in IT, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 4–5 years of hands‑on experience in IT support, networking or technical support.
• Practical knowledge of basic electrical work and electrical safety.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows, PC hardware, software installation and basic Command Prompt troubleshooting.
• Understanding of LAN/Wi‑Fi networking and structured cabling.
• Excellent communication, customer‑service and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple support requests and take ownership of issues.
