Junior AI/ML Engineer

About the role

IKONIC is seeking motivated junior AI/ML engineers to join its growing team in Islamabad. You will work on real‑world AI applications such as chatbots, automation workflows, and AI agents, gaining hands‑on experience from requirement gathering to deployment and optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in building AI‑powered applications using modern language models.
• Support development of chatbots and virtual assistants with basic conversational abilities.
• Work on simple Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for document‑based question answering.
• Design automation workflows using no‑code tools like Make, Zapier, or n8n.
• Integrate AI models with APIs, databases, and web applications.
• Handle vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, Chroma) for data storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to test, improve, and deploy AI solutions.
• Participate in prompt engineering, debugging, testing, and performance tuning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in AI/ML, software development, or related projects.
• Basic proficiency in Python with clean, maintainable code.
• Strong interest in Generative AI, LLM‑based systems, and chatbot development.
• Good understanding of core ML algorithms and statistical concepts.
