Junior Software Engineer

About the role

The Junior Software Engineer will join the technology team at Blackstone School of Law & Business in Lahore, supporting the development and maintenance of academic, administrative and student‑facing applications. Working on‑site full‑time, you will collaborate with senior engineers, product owners and academic stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code for back‑end services and APIs.
• Fix bugs, perform code reviews and contribute to unit testing.
• Assist in integrating disparate systems and improving performance.
• Maintain data integrity and security across platforms.
• Document code, create technical specifications and support deployment processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (or final‑year student with relevant projects).
• Foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms and software engineering principles.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Interest in education or legal‑tech domains.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, C#, Python or JavaScript).
• Experience with back‑end web development, APIs and server‑side frameworks.
• Understanding of relational (SQL) or non‑relational (NoSQL) databases.
• Familiarity with object‑oriented programming concepts.
• Basic use of version control systems such as Git.
