Laboratory Technician – Cardiology Lab

About the role

The Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology is seeking a full‑time Laboratory Technician to support its cardiology diagnostic services. You will work on‑site in a busy, patient‑centered laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely test results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests for cardiac patients.
• Prepare, process, and catalogue specimens according to established protocols.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Record, verify, and document test results in the laboratory information system.
• Assist in quality control procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to prioritize sample processing.
• Follow infection‑control, safety, and waste‑disposal guidelines.
• Manage inventory, report equipment issues, and support equipment maintenance.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong laboratory skills with practical experience in clinical laboratory procedures.
• Ability to interpret test results and identify abnormalities.
• Experience with quality control processes and adherence to laboratory standards.
• Knowledge of safety, infection‑control, and waste‑disposal practices in a healthcare setting.
• Attention to detail, reliable documentation, and collaborative work style.
• Previous experience in a hospital or cardiac‑care laboratory is an advantage.
