Lead Architect

About the role

Beam AI is looking for a Lead Architect to shape and grow its engineering organisation while staying hands‑on with technical work. You will guide multiple squads, own delivery and production quality, and partner with product and leadership on priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering across several product areas, ensuring delivery and production quality.
• Develop engineering leads, hire for needed capabilities, and define team structures.
• Collaborate with Product to translate priorities into realistic plans and resolve trade‑offs.
• Set technical direction, especially for architecture, reliability, and security that affect multiple teams.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks in building, testing, and shipping processes.
• Introduce practical AI‑assisted development practices while maintaining quality and reliability.

Required profile

• Significant experience building software and leading engineering teams, including managing leads across multiple teams.
• Proven track record of shaping engineering organisations while delivering products.
• Hands‑on technical background capable of reviewing code, assessing architecture, and troubleshooting production issues.
• Experience owning a software product beyond launch, focusing on reliability and continuous improvement.
• Current, practical use of AI coding tools and ability to help others adopt them effectively.
