Lead Process Engineer - APC & MPC

About the role

INTECH Automation Intelligence is looking for a Lead Process Engineer to support its Industrial Digitalization Solutions across Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, Mining, Cement, Metals and Manufacturing. The role centres on Advanced Process Control (APC) and Model Predictive Control (MPC), process optimization and plant performance improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process engineering for FEED, detailed engineering and digital solution projects, including site surveys, process walkdowns and data collection
• Review PFDs, P&IDs, operating philosophies, DCS configurations and historical plant data, and establish operating envelopes and constraints
• Perform mass and energy balances, hydraulic calculations and APC gap assessments, and define control strategies and optimization objectives
• Develop process design bases, APC control philosophies, FAT/SAT procedures and KPI reports, and support dynamic and multivariable process models and soft sensors
• Support PID tuning, control loop reviews, and APC/DCS interface definitions, alarms and interlocks
• Take part in FAT, SAT, commissioning, step testing and APC deployment, monitor KPIs and troubleshoot APC issues
• Support customer training, technical documentation and project handover, and lead process engineering across multidisciplinary teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or a related discipline
• 6-8 years of relevant process engineering experience
• Minimum 3 years in process optimization, APC, MPC, process control or plant performance engineering preferred
• Experience in mining, cement, metals or continuous process industries strongly preferred; Oil & Gas/refinery experience with APC also considered
• Willingness to travel internationally and work at global project sites

Required skills

• Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus or equivalent process simulation
• Microsoft Excel for engineering calculations
• APC/MPC platforms such as Aspen DMC3, Honeywell Profit or Yokogawa APC highly desirable
• Knowledge of DCS, process historians and online analyzers highly desirable
• Python, MATLAB or similar is an advantage
