Librarian

About the role

The University of Faisalabad is looking for a technology‑oriented Librarian to lead and enhance its library services. The role supports teaching, learning and research by ensuring seamless access to both digital and physical information resources.

Key responsibilities

• Manage acquisition, cataloguing, organization and preservation of books, journals and electronic resources.
• Develop and maintain library management systems and classification schemes.
• Oversee daily library operations, including shelving, equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
• Provide support for digital library initiatives and distance‑learning platforms.
• Maintain accurate records of holdings, loans, and student registrations.
• Issue reminders, enforce fine policies and ensure security of library assets.

Required profile

• MPhil or Master’s degree in Library & Information Science with a focus on Library Automation.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in library management.
• Demonstrated ability to support academic communities and manage both physical and electronic collections.
