Manager – Financial Services Audit

About the role

PwC is seeking a Manager to lead audit and assurance engagements for financial services clients in Pakistan. The role involves planning, executing and completing high‑quality, technology‑enabled audits for banks, insurance, asset management and other capital‑market entities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage audit engagements from planning through completion, including scoping, risk assessment, audit strategy, execution and reporting.
• Develop deep understanding of client business models, regulatory environments and key financial‑reporting risks.
• Apply ISAs, IFRS standards and PwC methodology while ensuring compliance with local regulators such as ICAP, SBP, SECP and AOB.
• Lead testing of business processes, internal controls and automated controls, coordinating with IT, actuarial and tax specialists.
• Oversee engagement economics, staffing, budgets and billing, and act as primary contact for client management.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in external audit, preferably within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (including IFRS 9, IFRS 17) and ISAs.
• Understanding of Pakistani financial‑services regulations and corporate governance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit technology and data‑analytics tools.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with PwC audit tools (advantageous).
