Manager Manufacturing Maintenance

About the role

The Manager Manufacturing Maintenance leads the maintenance function for oral solid dosage (OSD) production lines. The role is responsible for developing maintenance strategies, troubleshooting mechanical systems and ensuring equipment reliability across granulation, compression, coating, encapsulation and material handling processes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure mechanical reliability and availability of OSD equipment, including granulation (RMG/FBD), blending, compression, coating and encapsulation lines.
• Plan and execute preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maintain product quality.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures of drives, gearboxes, tooling, bearings, lubrication systems and other critical components using structured root‑cause analysis.
• Coordinate with Production and Quality teams for batch operations, equipment changeovers and line readiness.
• Manage critical spare parts inventory, monitor consumption trends and work with stores and procurement to guarantee timely replenishment.
• Utilise SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) for work order execution, breakdown reporting, preventive planning and spare‑parts tracking.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects to close performance gaps, implement mechanical upgrades and enhance mean time between failures (MTBF) and GMP compliance.

Required profile

• B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of progressive engineering experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG or continuous/process manufacturing environments.
• Hands‑on experience with machine installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT, start‑up support and performance qualification.
• Proven senior‑level responsibility for maintenance strategy development and team training.
