Manager / Senior Manager - Valuations and Modeling

About the role

EY Parthenon in Karachi is hiring a Manager or Senior Manager for its Valuations and Modeling (VME) team. The team supports clients on strategic planning, transaction and non-transaction decisions, including value creation assessment, financial reporting and market valuations for transactions. It covers sectors such as Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction, corporate business modeling, government public sector, economic advisory, decision analytics and capital equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Work with management on parts of the acquisition process or transformation plans and regularly undertake valuations for strategic priorities
• Co-develop approaches with clients, agree value measurements and give advice based on insights and factual conclusions
• Contribute technically to client engagements and internal projects by researching and analysing the target business, its market and quoted competitors
• Plan, prepare and review deliverables such as Excel data books, written reports, presentations and client discussions
• Support junior team members, coach others, take responsibility for your own learning and take part in upward feedback

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting or business
• At least 6 years of related business valuation work experience
• Solution-driven, analytical and logical, with strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing requirements or deadlines
• Ideally: valuation and modelling experience in a professional services or Big 4 environment, progress toward CFA or another professional certification, understanding of the GCC/MENA market, and Arabic (preferred but not mandatory)

Required skills

• Multiple business valuations using DCF, Guideline Public Companies Method and Precedent Transactions methods, and purchase price allocations
• Complex financial models including debt financing, feasibility studies and review of third-party appraisal reports
• Discounts and premiums, option pricing models, PWERM and intangible asset valuation
• Market assessment, market sizing and supply-demand gap analysis
• IFRS fair value measurement, business combinations and impairment testing
