Mechanical Engineer – Heavy Equipment Maintenance

About the role

The role involves overseeing maintenance and repair of heavy earth‑moving, concreting and tunnelling equipment on large infrastructure projects. You will lead a technical team to ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily maintenance and repair activities for excavators, loaders, concrete mixers, pumps, dump trucks, jumbo drills and shotcrete machines.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime.
• Diagnose, overhaul and repair mechanical, hydraulic, engine and electrical systems.
• Lead and train a team of technicians and mechanics.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and equipment history.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote safe working practices.
• Coordinate procurement of spare parts and tools.
• Manage maintenance budgets and control costs.

Required profile

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–5 years experience on large infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience supervising technical teams.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Familiarity with safety standards for heavy equipment operations.
