Mechanical Planning Engineer – Oil & Gas EPC

About the role

The Mechanical Planning Engineer will develop, maintain and monitor schedules for all mechanical engineering activities within oil and gas EPC projects. Based at the head office in DHA EME, Lahore, the role ensures that mechanical deliverables such as storage tank fabrication, depot construction, static equipment installation and piping are aligned with overall project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update detailed project schedules for mechanical scopes using project management tools.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors and procurement to gather inputs and verify schedule accuracy.
• Monitor progress, identify variances and propose corrective actions to keep the project on track.
• Prepare regular status reports highlighting critical path activities, risks and resource constraints.
• Ensure mechanical plans comply with company standards, contractual obligations and safety regulations.
• Support risk management by spotting scheduling conflicts and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Maintain documentation of planning activities, changes and approvals for audits and reviews.

Required profile

• Strong background in mechanical engineering with experience in industrial oil‑and‑gas projects.
• Proven knowledge of EPC project planning processes and schedule control.
• Ability to analyse schedules, optimise resource allocation and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) or similar tools.
• Mechanical engineering principles applied to storage tanks, static equipment and piping.
• Understanding of EPC industry standards and safety regulations.
