Medical Research Scientist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Research Scientist to join a global biotechnology leader on a full‑time remote basis. The role focuses on designing and implementing advanced computational methods for medical data, driving diagnostic and therapeutic innovations, and publishing high‑impact research.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate machine‑learning models for medical imaging analysis and clinical decision support.
• Collaborate with clinicians, data scientists, and software engineers to translate research into scalable solutions.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
• Optimize algorithms for performance, accuracy, and efficiency on large‑scale medical datasets.
• Contribute to internal tools and frameworks that accelerate research workflows.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field with a medical focus.
• Proven expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling applied to medical data.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed medical or AI journals.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (DICOM, HL7) and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR).
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced research environment.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, R, Julia.
• ML/DL libraries: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn.
• Medical imaging toolkits: ITK, SimpleITK, MONAI.
• Experience with MRI, CT, X‑ray data.
• Knowledge of DICOM, HL7, HIPAA, GDPR.
