MENA Finance - Accounts Receivable & Collection Specialist
EY · Division de Karachi
Job description
About the role
EY is hiring an Accounts Receivable and Collection Specialist for its newly formed Core Collection team in Pakistan, which supports strong cash and liquidity outcomes across the MENA region. The role drives timely collection of aged receivables through systematic client and internal follow-up, so that accurate collection intelligence supports cash application, dispute resolution and account reconciliation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage an assigned AR portfolio and keep a clear, current view of collection status, next actions and expected payment dates.
- Follow up with clients by email and telephone, typically 10-15 days after invoice issuance, to confirm receipt, approval status and payment timing, and obtain payment commitments.
- Follow up with internal engagement teams on aged receivables, missing documentation, invoice acceptance and client queries to unblock payment.
- Capture invoice disputes accurately, including the issue, responsible party and agreed next step, and communicate them promptly to the relevant team.
- Reconcile open balances with clients, share statements and invoice copies, and obtain remittance details and balance confirmations.
- Provide payment and remittance information to the AR management team to support cash application and the resolution of on-account and unidentified payments.
- Monitor payment commitments, follow up on missed ones and escalate overdue or problematic cases.
- Keep collection notes and status updates complete and accurate in gCollect, using approved automation for reminders and personal follow-up where needed.
- Identify recurring causes of delay and suggest practical improvements to collection effectiveness, invoice quality and the engagement-to-cash process.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business, accounting or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, collections, billing, cash application or a related finance role.
- Working knowledge of receivables, payment allocation and account reconciliation principles.
- Ideally: experience in a professional services or multi-country finance environment; experience using SAP and collection workflow tools; exposure to process digitization or continuous improvement across billing, collections or cash application.
Required skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using finance or ERP systems.
- For internal candidates: knowledge of the engagement lifecycle and the firm's cash application processes.
- Hands-on use of gCollect or a comparable collections platform, and comfort with automated reminder workflows and AI-enabled tools.
What we offer
- Continuous learning and exposure to modern collection practices, automation and AI-enabled finance tools.
- The opportunity to help shape a growing regional team and improve how receivables are managed.
- Support and flexibility to build stakeholder-management skills and develop your career.
