MEP Draftsman – CAD Drafting for Elevators & Building Systems

About the role

We are looking for an MEP Draftsman to create and maintain accurate mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings for elevators, escalators and related building systems on the Sindh Forensic Science Library project. The role involves using CAD tools to translate design changes into clear, compliant documentation and supporting on‑site installation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and update AutoCAD drawings for MEP systems, including ducting, piping, plant rooms, mechanical equipment, electrical wiring and switch‑gear.
• Incorporate design revisions from engineers and architects and ensure all drawings meet project specifications and relevant codes.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers and site teams to resolve drawing discrepancies.
• Maintain organized project documentation and issue as‑built drawings after installation.
• Assist the site installation crew by providing clear technical drawings and clarifications.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, MEP or a related technical field.
• Practical experience in MEP drafting, preferably on elevator, escalator, HVAC, plumbing or electrical projects.
• Basic understanding of design engineering principles and ability to interpret engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering codes and standards.
• Strong teamwork and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other industry‑standard CAD software.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings.
• Knowledge of MEP drafting practices and building services documentation.
