Nutrition Facilitator (4‑month project)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is launching a four‑month nutrition project funded by UNICEF in seven districts of Punjab, Pakistan. As a Nutrition Facilitator you will join a three‑member community outreach team to improve nutrition service delivery, conduct household screening, and support families with malnutrition prevention and treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct door‑to‑door and village‑level malnutrition screening using MUAC tape and checking for bilateral pitting oedema, following CMAM protocols.
• Identify children at risk, record findings, and refer acute cases to the nearest health facility or OTP/SC site.
• Provide counseling sessions for mother and father groups on child nutrition, early signs of malnutrition, and proper feeding practices.
• Coordinate with health‑facility staff to confirm receipt and enrollment of referred children.
• Perform follow‑up visits to monitor treatment progress, track defaulters, and maintain accurate records.
• Report activities and outcomes to the Program Officer/Project Manager.

Required profile

• Experience or familiarity with community‑based nutrition screening and CMAM protocols.
• Ability to travel within assigned districts and work directly with families.
• Strong communication skills for counseling and referral explanation.
• Commitment to a short‑term, field‑based project (4 months with possible extension).
