Patient Administration & Billing Application Specialist

About the role

MEDITECH is seeking a Patient Administration & Billing Application Specialist to support healthcare IT implementations across Pakistan. Based in Karachi and reporting to the regional applications team, you will act as a subject‑matter expert for configuring, supporting and optimizing MEDITECH patient administration and billing modules.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and configure patient administration (demographics, visit types, scheduling) and billing/charge capture modules to align with hospital policies and local regulations.
• Participate in system implementations and upgrades, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing (unit, integration, UAT) and go‑live support.
• Develop and maintain interface mappings with billing engines, insurance payers, HIS modules and financial ledgers.
• Troubleshoot user‑reported issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement fixes or work‑arounds; coordinate patches with global MEDITECH teams.
• Create and maintain configuration documentation and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience configuring patient administration, scheduling and billing modules in a hospital information system (MEDITECH or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient registration, ADT processes and electronic charge capture.
• Knowledge of billing rules, insurance claim processing, tariffs and local regulatory requirements in Pakistan.
• Experience with interfacing standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
• Proficiency in system testing methodologies and ability to create test scripts and acceptance criteria.
