Patient Care Coordinator – US Healthcare Provider Support

About the role

Edge is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to support US‑based healthcare providers from its Pakistan office. The role acts as a liaison between patients, clinicians and insurers, ensuring smooth scheduling, registration, insurance verification and telehealth coordination while maintaining high‑quality, HIPAA‑compliant care.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and manage inbound patient calls, schedule appointments and confirm visits to optimize provider calendars.
• Tri­age calls, escalating urgent clinical matters and logging all interactions accurately.
• Collect, verify and enter patient registration and insurance information, confirming eligibility and benefits.
• Track and follow up on patient balances overdue 90+ days and handle basic billing, referral and prior‑authorization inquiries.
• Obtain external medical records, process lab orders, upload results and manage prescription refill workflows.
• Monitor EHR inboxes, update patient charts in a HIPAA‑compliant manner and keep task queues organized.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a US healthcare administrative or medical office setting.
• Comfortable working on‑site at Edge’s Pakistan office.
• Strong written and spoken English with excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of US health‑insurance types (PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid), ICD/CPT coding and HIPAA regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with athenahealth (Athena) and Spruce EHR platforms.
• Familiarity with telehealth coordination tools.
• Experience using Slack, Microsoft Teams and digital document management tools.
