Penetration Testing Senior Associate

About the role

PwC’s cybersecurity team is seeking a Penetration Testing Senior Associate to help protect client organisations from cyber threats. You will conduct simulated attacks to uncover vulnerabilities, provide actionable recommendations, and contribute to the development of secure systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform penetration testing engagements across web, mobile, and network environments.
• Identify, exploit, and document security weaknesses in client systems.
• Prepare clear technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging threats, tools, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with consulting and project teams to deliver comprehensive security solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a recognised university.
• Up to 3 years of experience in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, or related fields.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Client‑facing experience in a consulting or project‑based environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS).
• Operating systems: Windows, Linux, Unix.
• Security tools: Burp Suite, Nessus, Nmap, Metasploit, OWASP ZAP.
• Programming platforms: PHP, ASP, NodeJS, Java.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and SANS Top 20.
• Optional certifications: CEH, eCCPT, eJPT, eWAPT, OSCP, OSCE.
