People Management & Safeguarding Officer

About the role

The People Management & Safeguarding Officer will support the Lead – People Management and Protection in strengthening people management, safeguarding, staff wellbeing and protection systems across Muslim Hands' global network. Based in Islamabad, the role combines technical and operational support to ensure compliance with organisational policies and promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve people management policies, procedures and systems.
• Provide technical and administrative support to Country Offices on people management matters.
• Assist in reviewing and developing people management guidance, SOPs and workforce planning tools.
• Coordinate people management activities, maintain records and monitor compliance.
• Support the rollout and maintenance of the global staff management portal.
• Implement safeguarding policies and minimum standards across Country Offices.
• Coordinate safeguarding inductions, awareness campaigns and refresher training.
• Support safeguarding risk assessments, monitoring visits and compliance reviews.
• Maintain safeguarding documentation, central complaint log and track investigation progress.

Required profile

• Experience in human resources, people management or related fields within an international or NGO context.
• Knowledge of safeguarding standards and protection mechanisms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with regional coordinators and country offices.
• Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to promote a culture of inclusion and accountability.
