Plant ITC Inspector – Punjab

About the role

The National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA) is building its foundational team to strengthen Pakistan's agri‑trade ecosystem. As an Inspector ITC Plants you will conduct phytosanitary inspections at points of entry and exit, ensuring compliance with national and international plant health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct phytosanitary inspections of plants, plant products and regulated articles at borders in line with SOPs.
• Collect official samples for diagnostic analysis, maintaining chain‑of‑custody and proper documentation.
• Verify export consignments against importing‑country phytosanitary requirements before certification.
• Supervise and confirm phytosanitary treatments (fumigation, heat, cold, etc.) and ensure safety compliance.
• Inspect approved facilities such as packhouses, warehouses, treatment centres and quarantine stations for regulatory compliance.
• Implement prescribed measures on non‑compliant consignments (detention, treatment, re‑export, destruction).
• Detect, record and report pest interceptions, fraud or bio‑security risks and prepare official reports.
• Coordinate with Customs and other border agencies during inspection and clearance processes.

Required profile

• B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture with a focus on Entomology, Plant Protection, Plant Pathology, Weed Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in plant quarantine, plant protection, inspection or related operations (fresh candidates with strong practical exposure may be considered).
• Knowledge of sampling and inspection procedures and basic phytosanitary requirements.
• Ability to work in field/shift environments while maintaining high integrity.
