PMC Engineer

About the role

The PMC Engineer is responsible for planning, budgeting, document control, compliance, resource coordination, schedule monitoring, and overall execution of construction projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a matrix to split work into zones/areas and disciplines, define responsibilities, and map WBS & OBS.
• Ensure timely preparation and revision of project budget, share cost trends, cash flow forecasts, and financial risks with Finance.
• Implement robust document control for shop drawings, technical submittals, and contractual documents to prevent errors and support claims.
• Identify and address environmental, legal, and social compliance issues per donor and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate daily manpower and equipment allocation with execution team, admin, and warehouse to optimize resource management.
• Monitor project progress using system reports and site feedback, and apply corrective actions to meet schedule commitments.
• Organize and manage project human resources in collaboration with HRM and PP&A for acquisition and development.
• Lead project execution according to plan, taking corrective actions to stay within time and budget.
• Provide departmental leadership by setting objectives, managing performance, and motivating staff to achieve goals.
• Recommend and implement policy and procedural improvements to ensure quality, cost‑effective service and compliance.
• Ensure QHSE policy implementation, create a safe work environment, manage risks, and comply with QA/QC standards.
