Private Credit Analyst

About the role

The Private Credit Analyst will support Octus’s coverage of the private credit market by maintaining financial models and capital‑structure data for a growing universe of business development companies (BDCs) and other closed‑end private credit funds.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain three‑statement financial models for a portfolio of 40–50 BDCs reporting quarterly.
• Upload and maintain detailed capital‑structure data for each company.
• Produce portfolio updates and summaries aligned with each company’s reporting cadence.
• Track financing activity across the BDC market, logging new financing, cost of capital, and lender details.
• Contribute to full private‑credit coverage used in company analysis, published reports, and site content, including expanding quarterly trend reports.
• Respond to recurring data requests from internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in economics, accounting, or finance.
• Ability to interpret financial statements and translate business drivers into quantitative models.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with tenacity to work through complex, data‑heavy deliverables.
• Strong interest in credit markets or broader financial markets.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new skills for professional growth.
