Procurement Specialist – Karachi

About the role

Our client, Hamdard Pakistan, is seeking a detail‑oriented Procurement Specialist to join the team at its Tariq Road office in Karachi. The role focuses on managing the full procurement cycle, from sourcing and contract negotiation to purchase order issuance, ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain regular communication with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and on‑time delivery.
• Negotiate contracts and terms to secure optimal pricing and conditions aligned with company policies.
• Coordinate the purchase order process from requisition through approval and issuance, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Apply best‑practice sourcing methods to identify suitable suppliers and evaluate alternatives for cost efficiency.
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance, recommending strategic adjustments and identifying risks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess procurement needs, prepare specifications, and deliver timely solutions.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reporting for transparency and audit readiness.
• Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies that enhance supply‑chain efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist in resolving procurement‑related issues such as discrepancies, delays, or non‑compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of relevant procurement experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with vendors and internal departments.
• Ability to work independently without direct team management responsibilities.
