Professor of Practice in Computing

About the role

Riphah International University is seeking a Professor of Practice in Computing to join its faculty in Islamabad. The role blends advanced software engineering knowledge with emerging computing technologies to enrich the curriculum and foster industry‑academia collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in software engineering and emerging technologies.
• Lead collaborative projects that connect students with local software industry partners.
• Mentor students, providing academic guidance and career readiness support.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with industry for internships, workshops, and guest lectures.
• Advise on curriculum enhancements and emerging trends within the computing department.
• Participate in research focused on innovation management and technology advancement.
• Organize academic events, seminars and networking opportunities related to software engineering.
• Promote best practices in academic‑industry collaboration and continuous program improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum MS degree in Computing or a related field, preferably obtained from a foreign institution.
• At least 15 years of industry experience in computing or software engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching or academic experience.
• Strong communication, mentoring and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strategic leadership in project and innovation management, without direct team management responsibilities.
