Project Engineer – Diesel Power Generation

About the role

The Project Engineer will lead diesel generator projects from order receipt through engineering, manufacturing, testing, delivery, commissioning and close‑out. Acting as the main technical liaison, you will coordinate with customers, consultants, suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications, contracts and client requirements.
• Coordinate engineering activities for diesel generator packages and prepare technical documentation (GA drawings, SLDs, wiring, foundation, fuel system, fire‑detection, O&M manuals, FAT/SAT procedures, method statements, ITPs, quality plans, certificates).
• Handle consultant comments, manage revisions and ensure compliance with standards.
• Liaise with customers, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to resolve technical and commercial issues.
• Monitor manufacturing progress, schedule FATs, inspections and customer visits.
• Coordinate logistics, delivery, commissioning and project close‑out activities.
• Review purchase orders, commercial terms and payment milestones with the sales team.
• Prepare technical clarifications, compliance statements and deviation reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in project coordination for diesel generator or heavy‑duty equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals.
• Proven ability to produce and review detailed technical documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
