Project Engineering Specialist – Flood Reconstruction

About the role

The Project Engineering Specialist will support the UNDP Flood Reconstruction and Coordination Programme in Quetta, focusing on enhancing transparency, accountability and monitoring of flood recovery efforts. This role contributes to UNDP’s broader mission of building resilient, inclusive development outcomes in Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems for flood recovery projects.
• Improve financial transparency and accountability of resources allocated for reconstruction.
• Strengthen governance mechanisms and capacities for resilient flood recovery.
• Coordinate with government agencies, civil society, national partners and local communities.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight for reconstruction activities.
• Track project progress, prepare analytical reports and support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Development Studies or related field.
• Proven experience in disaster recovery, flood reconstruction or development project implementation.
• Familiarity with UN development frameworks and multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Fluency in English; willingness to work in Quetta.
