Project Engineering Specialist – Flood Reconstruction Programme

About the role

The Project Engineering Specialist will lead the planning, design, implementation and monitoring of civil works under the Flood Reconstruction and Coordination Programme in Quetta District, Balochistan. The role combines technical engineering expertise with coordination of contractors, donors and UNDP field teams to ensure resilient, community‑driven reconstruction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments and prepare detailed designs, drawings, Bills of Quantities and cost estimates for civil, structural, electrical and mechanical works.
• Develop and update project civil‑works plans, budgets and schedules, ensuring alignment with UNDP policies and local standards.
• Prepare high‑quality procurement documents (Terms of Reference, specifications, BoQs) and support bid evaluation and contract award processes.
• Oversee contract management, monitor construction progress, verify interim payment certificates and ensure compliance with technical specifications and timelines.
• Lead a team of UNDP field engineers, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Provide technical inputs and briefing materials for donor engagement, responding to queries on project progress and quality.
