Project Engineering Specialist

About the role

The Project Engineering Specialist will support UNDP's Flood Reconstruction and Coordination Programme in Pakistan. The role focuses on improving transparency, governance, and the physical reconstruction of flood‑affected communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems for flood recovery financing.
• Strengthen governance mechanisms and build capacities for resilient flood recovery.
• Oversee the reconstruction of houses and rehabilitation of community infrastructure.
• Coordinate with government agencies, civil society, and development partners to ensure effective programme implementation.
• Provide technical guidance and reporting on project progress and outcomes.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience working on large‑scale reconstruction or disaster recovery projects.
• Familiarity with UN development frameworks and multi‑stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to challenging field conditions.

Required skills
