Psychologist – Substance Use Disorder Rehabilitation

About the role
Murree Rehab Centre in Rawalpindi is seeking a qualified Psychologist to join its multidisciplinary team delivering evidence‑based care for individuals with Substance Use Disorder. The role involves assessment, counseling, treatment planning and ongoing support to promote lasting recovery.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments, interviews, mental status examinations and risk evaluations for clients with substance‑use and related mental‑health concerns.
- Develop individualized treatment goals and contribute to comprehensive recovery plans in coordination with medical, clinical and support staff.
- Provide individual and group counseling using evidence‑informed approaches appropriate for addiction recovery.
- Support relapse‑prevention planning, motivation enhancement, emotional regulation and behavioral change.
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and document assessments, progress, interventions and discharge recommendations.
- Participate in case reviews, family guidance sessions, psycho‑education activities and continuing‑care planning.
- Monitor client progress and promptly communicate significant clinical observations or safeguarding concerns to the team.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of Substance Use Disorder, addiction recovery, relapse prevention and co‑occurring mental‑health conditions.
- Competence in psychological interviewing, assessment, case formulation, treatment planning and clinical documentation.
- Ability to deliver individual counseling, group therapy, psycho‑education and motivational interventions.
- Familiarity with cognitive‑behavioral, motivational interviewing, trauma‑informed and recovery‑oriented practices.
- Excellent communication, active listening and cultural sensitivity when working with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional boundaries, ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Required skills
- Proficiency with electronic documentation tools for clinical record‑keeping.
