Punjabi Team Lead

About the role

This hourly remote contractor position involves leading quality assurance for Punjabi AI training projects. You will ensure that AI‑generated Punjabi content meets high standards of accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Spot‑check Punjabi items, identify quality issues and provide feedback through Discord direct messages.
• Update trainers and QAs on project guidelines, workflow changes and quality expectations.
• Handle trainer/QA questions about Punjabi wording, script requirements (Gurmukhi/Shahmukhi), dialects and edge cases.
• Activate inactive contributors, track follow‑ups and flag availability problems.
• Create and maintain project documentation such as style guides, FAQs, trackers and onboarding materials.
• Conduct onboarding and training calls to explain rubrics, quality standards and script specifications.
• Identify recurring quality gaps, propose workflow improvements and help build scalable QA processes.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native Punjabi proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Excellent English proficiency for following guidelines and providing feedback.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Punjabi writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA or related language‑review workflows.
• Deep knowledge of Punjabi grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, dialect variation and cultural context.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators or reviewers is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Discord for communication.
• Experience using Google Sheets and Google Docs for tracking and documentation.
• Ability to work with Gurmukhi and/or Shahmukhi scripts and specify which scripts you can read/write.
