Purchase Officer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Purchase Officer to join the procurement team of a leading micro‑finance bank. The role involves managing the end‑to‑end purchasing cycle, from requisition to purchase order, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with bank policies.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements and support vendor evaluation and selection.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services as per agreed terms.
• Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor files, invoices and supporting documentation.
• Assist in the full PR‑to‑PO cycle, including preparation and issuance of RFQs/RFPs.
• Support procurement audits, monitor vendor performance and assist with vendor onboarding.
• Collaborate with user departments to confirm material specifications, quantities and delivery timelines.
• Follow up on purchase orders, deliveries and invoice submissions to ensure compliance.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Head of Procurement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or administrative support, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Basic understanding of procurement processes, documentation and vendor management.
• Strong analytical, coordination and follow‑up abilities with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using ERP systems for procurement.
• Good communication and negotiation support skills.
