QC Analyst - Raw Materials

About the role

Abbott is hiring a QC Analyst in its Quality Control Raw Material Section in Karachi, Pakistan, to support the Chemical Manager. The role covers sampling, physical and chemical testing of raw materials, water testing, operation of analytical instruments, documentation and compliance activities, while ensuring adherence to GMP, cGMP, cGLP and EHS requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GMP, cGMP, cGLP, Data Integrity, ALCOA, ALCOA+ and Abbott Quality Standards
• Support audit readiness, quality compliance initiatives and EHS activities
• Assist in meeting departmental KPIs, annual objectives and business targets through timely testing, documentation and compliance work
• Complete training requirements on time
• Perform raw material sampling according to approved procedures and SOPs
• Carry out physical and chemical testing of raw materials against approved specifications and pharmacopoeial requirements
• Execute vendor trial sample testing and project-related analytical activities
• Perform routine water testing with full documentation
• Run analyses on instruments such as pH meter, conductivity meter, TOC analyzer, polarimeter, refractometer, viscometer, Karl Fischer titrator, HPLC, UV-visible spectrophotometer, FTIR / nano spectrometer and analytical balances
• Maintain assigned laboratory instruments through proper operation, calibration verification, routine checks and maintenance

Required profile

• M.Sc. Chemistry, Pharm.D. or B.Pharm
• 1-2 years of experience in the same capacity
• Knowledge of technical problem resolution and QC/QA activities
