Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

About the role

A company is looking for a QA Engineer with 2-3 years of hands-on experience to help ship reliable, high-quality software. You will work closely with developers, product/project managers and designers across the full development lifecycle, from reviewing requirements to verifying releases in production. The role combines manual testing with growing ownership of test automation.

Key responsibilities

• Review product requirements, user stories and designs to spot gaps, edge cases and testability concerns early.
• Write clear test plans, test cases and test scenarios for new features and regression coverage.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, exploratory and UI/UX testing on web and/or mobile apps.
• Test REST APIs with tools such as Postman, checking responses, status codes, error handling and data integrity.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API flows and grow the automation suite.
• Log, track and retest defects in a bug tracker (e.g. ClickUp, Jira) with reproduction steps and evidence.
• Run basic SQL checks to validate backend data.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies and support release readiness, including sign-off and post-release verification.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor results, and help improve QA processes and documentation.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC and Agile/Scrum; solid knowledge of testing techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative and exploratory testing.
• Analytical thinking, ownership of quality, collaboration with developers, curiosity about new tools and prioritisation of risk and user impact.

Required skills

• Hands-on API testing (Postman or similar).
• At least one automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.
• Scripting in .NET Core, JavaScript or Java.
• SQL for data validation, and defect tracking tools such as Jira and ClickUp.
• Git and version control.
• Nice to have: AI/LLM testing, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins), performance testing (JMeter, k6), security testing basics, BDD (Cucumber), cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) or Docker, and US healthcare domain experience (HIPAA awareness).
