Remote Backend Developer – AI Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join a globally distributed team on a part‑time contract. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power next‑generation AI model training and evaluation across domains such as finance, healthcare, and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs for AI training infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust backend solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency in production environments.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and share knowledge across the team.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to maintain system stability and uptime.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience building and maintaining scalable backend services.
• Strong understanding of system design principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code.
