Retail Store Manager / Trainee Manager

About the role

Urbansole is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Retail Store Manager or Trainee Store Manager to lead one of its nationwide footwear stores. The role combines operational oversight with team leadership to ensure an excellent in‑store experience for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, visual merchandising, stock control and cash handling.
• Lead, motivate and coach the sales team, assign tasks and develop product knowledge.
• Maintain high standards of store presentation and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Achieve sales targets and key performance indicators while monitoring store expenses.
• Implement loss‑prevention measures and prepare regular sales and inventory reports.
• Collaborate with head office on promotions, policies and operational improvements.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑facing abilities with a focus on satisfaction.
• Effective store management experience, including team supervision and inventory control.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and coordinating with management.
• Knowledge of retail loss‑prevention practices.
• Previous retail experience, preferably in footwear, fashion or apparel; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Minimum high school diploma; a degree in Business, Retail Management or related field is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence in Microsoft Word.
