Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to act as a full‑charge bookkeeper, overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, match to purchase orders, manage payment runs (ACH, wire, check) and maintain vendor records.
• Record and post journal entries, support monthly and year‑end close, and maintain the chart of accounts.
• Perform monthly bank, credit‑card, loan and balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Reconcile insurance premiums, claims, prepaid expenses and review balance‑sheet variances.
• Oversee accounts receivable: invoice, cash application, monitor aging, support collections and handle deductions.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits, respond to audit requests and assist with year‑end adjustments.
• Compile borrowing‑base certificates and provide data for lender reporting and monthly financial statements.
• Identify and implement process improvements, maintain internal controls and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting or full‑cycle bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Experience working with external accountants and supporting audits.
• Familiarity with borrowing‑base reporting and lender requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Ability to manage AP, AR, GL and reconciliation processes.
• Experience preparing borrowing‑base certificates and lender reports.
