Senior Android Developer – Custom Keyboard Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Developer with deep experience in custom keyboard (IME) development to join our team on a short‑term contract. The role is hybrid, based in Pakistan, and focuses on delivering a high‑quality Android keyboard solution within a two‑month timeline.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android keyboard applications using modern Android practices.
• Work extensively with the Android Input Method Framework (IME) to implement custom layouts, themes, language support, suggestions, and autocorrection.
• Optimize performance, responsiveness, memory usage, and overall user experience.
• Integrate third‑party APIs, libraries, and backend services as required.
• Debug and resolve complex issues, ensuring compatibility across Android versions and device configurations.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to meet project milestones.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Android application development experience.
• Proven track record building custom keyboard/IME applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Deep understanding of Android SDK, lifecycle, UI components, and performance tuning.
