Senior Android Player Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Android Engineer to lead the design and optimization of our next‑generation live‑streaming player framework and SDK. You will ensure high‑quality playback, low latency, and robust performance across all Android platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize the Android video player framework and SDK.
• Troubleshoot and resolve live‑streaming issues such as buffering, latency, and playback performance.
• Customize and extend ExoPlayer components, adaptive‑bitrate (ABR) logic, and player builders.
• Integrate and maintain ad technologies including IMA, DAI, and SSAI.
• Work with dynamic manifests (MPD/M3U8) and adaptive bitrate workflows.
• Implement and maintain QoE analytics integrations (Conviva, Mux, Hydrolix).

Required profile

• Strong programming expertise in Kotlin and Java.
• Hands‑on experience customizing and optimizing ExoPlayer.
• Solid understanding of streaming protocols (DASH, HLS) and adaptive streaming.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot live player performance and rebuffering issues.
• Familiarity with ad integrations (IMA, DAI, SSAI) and QoE monitoring tools.
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, and Flows.
• Analytical mindset and strong problem‑solving skills in live video delivery.
