Senior Backend Engineer – AI Tooling

About the role

Our client, Painter Marketing Pros, is building AI‑driven tools for its agency and future products. They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to lead a small team in Islamabad, designing and delivering high‑performance backend services that power these solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend APIs and micro‑services using Python frameworks such as Django, Flask and FastAPI.
• Lead and mentor a team of two backend engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering best‑practice coding standards.
• Implement security controls following OWASP Top Ten guidelines and ensure compliance with web‑application security standards.
• Document APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications and support seamless integration with front‑end and AI components.
• Optimize performance through efficient database design, query tuning and service architecture improvements.
• Collaborate with DevOps to build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, integration and deployment.
• Manage cloud resources to guarantee reliability, scalability and cost‑effective utilization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues to maintain high availability.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of professional experience building scalable backend systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing a small engineering team.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on performance and security.
