Senior Backend Engineer – Build Scalable APIs

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend systems and APIs. You will own architecture decisions, ensure reliability and scalability, and work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high‑performance backend systems and APIs.
• Own backend architecture decisions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code following engineering best practices.
• Design, manage, and optimize database structures, queries, and data models.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to ensure performance and data integrity.
• Develop integrations with third‑party services, APIs, and internal systems.
• Implement authentication, authorization, security best practices, and data protection measures.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and improve system efficiency.
• Debug complex production issues and provide long‑term technical solutions.
• Lead backend development initiatives from planning to deployment.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
• Review code, mentor junior engineers, and improve team engineering standards.
• Set up and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and monitoring systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Experience working in agile development environments.

Required skills

• Node.js, Python, Java, or Go.
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
• RESTful API and microservices design.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
