About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale robust backend systems on AWS. You will own the architecture end‑to‑end, mentor junior developers, and help the team grow.

Key responsibilities

Design and architect scalable, fault‑tolerant microservices and event‑driven systems.
Develop clean, well‑tested APIs using Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS.
Own AWS cloud infrastructure, including deployment, monitoring, cost optimisation and scaling.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments with Infrastructure as Code.
Collaborate with front‑end, product and QA teams to deliver features end‑to‑end.

Required profile

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
5+ years of backend development with Node.js and strong hands‑on NestJS experience.
Proven experience with relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and caching/message‑queue technologies.
Hands‑on experience with a wide range of AWS services and container orchestration.
Excellent problem‑solving, communication and mentoring skills.

Authentication: JWT, OAuth, Passport.js, RBAC
Testing: Jest, Mocha/Chai
Security: OWASP Top 10, SQL injection, XSS, CSRF mitigation
Monitoring/logging: CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, ELK
