Senior Backend‑Heavy Full‑Stack Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend‑heavy full‑stack engineer to lead the integration of our SmartEarn platform. The role is fully remote and focuses on building robust Node.js/TypeScript APIs that power points and rewards for shoppers across thousands of partner brands.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend endpoints for the SmartEarn API integration.
• Test and stage the integration using the VDX sandbox environment.
• Manage purchase and reward lifecycles (Pending, Approved, Refunded, Cancelled) and calculate reward values.
• Implement real‑time transaction tracking, reward status management and user notification flows.
• Develop and maintain backend APIs and business logic with Node.js, TypeScript and Express.
• Periodically support the React Native rewards interface and contribute to the Next.js Business Portal.
• Design scalable, idempotent solutions for financial reconciliation.
• Work autonomously in a fast‑paced startup, delivering frequent deployments while ensuring transactional accuracy.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional experience building backend APIs with TypeScript, Node.js and Express.
• 4+ years delivering API integrations using REST, Webhooks and event‑driven architectures.
• 5+ years applying an architecture mindset to scalable, financial‑grade systems.
• Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a remote‑first environment.
