Senior Business Analyst - Payments

About the role

The Senior Business Analyst - Payments leads end-to-end business analysis and delivery of complex domestic and international payment initiatives within the UAE banking ecosystem. The role covers ownership of requirements, stakeholder management, release planning, production implementation and post-release stabilization. It is based in Pakistan, onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end business analysis for domestic and international payment solutions across digital and banking channels.
• Analyse payment journeys, including SWIFT, UAEFTS, WPS, IPP, fund transfers, bulk payments and payment processing workflows.
• Gather and translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria.
• Identify opportunities for payment automation, digitisation and process improvements.
• Own delivery activities, coordinating Business, Product, Technology, Operations and Testing teams.
• Manage project milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and delivery timelines.
• Lead release planning, SIT, UAT, regression testing, production deployment and post-release stabilization.
• Ensure business sign-offs, operational readiness and timely resolution of production issues.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate workshops and give regular delivery updates to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, IT or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Banking / Financial Services, preferably in Payments or Transaction Banking.
• Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst, Lead Business Analyst or Delivery Manager.
• Experience delivering complex payment and digital banking initiatives.
• Preferred: experience in UAE corporate, SME or transaction banking payments; exposure to digital banking payment journeys on web and mobile; understanding of payment APIs, host-to-host integrations and payment processing architectures; Agile experience with Epics, Features, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on functional knowledge of SWIFT, UAEFTS, WPS and the UAE Instant Payment Platform (IPP).
• Requirements gathering, functional documentation, user stories and process mapping.
• Release planning, SIT, UAT, production deployment and post-production support.
• Stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and problem-solving.
