Senior Commercial Officer - Import/Export

About the role

Pakistan Tobacco Company (BAT) is looking for a Commercial Support Officer in Karachi to lead end-to-end import and export operations and keep material available for uninterrupted business. The role works closely with Treasury, banks, suppliers, customs authorities and clearance agents.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end import and export operations to ensure timely material availability.
• Manage Letters of Credit (LCs) and coordinate with Treasury and banks for import transactions.
• Maintain records of vendor accounts and LCs and give regular status updates.
• Handle bank, shipping and trade documentation in line with company and regulatory requirements.
• Work with clearance agents, Finance and Supply Chain to monitor shipment and clearance status.
• Analyze the impact of duties, taxes and other import costs on shipments.
• Liaise with suppliers, customs authorities and clearance agents for timely documentation and clearance of imports, exports and samples.
• Run regular coordination meetings with Commercial, Treasury and key stakeholders while complying with import laws and factory protocols.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in a supply chain role.
• Strong technical expertise in custom duty calculation and processing.
• Hands-on experience with factory warehousing processes.
• Proven ability to coach and develop others.
• Problem-solving and communication skills, able to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• Familiarity with the WeBOC and PSW portals.
